Life is......
Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.

Why did God make Angels
God is so powerful and glorious that He cannot be approached in person by human beings. He alone "hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto: whom no man hath seen, nor can see (1 Timothy 6:16). Angels do not have man's shortcomings, and can therefore act for God and represent Him when communicating with men and women. They bridge the huge gap between the holiness and perfection of God in heaven and the shortcomings of dying people on this planet. Angels were made immortal (that is, never to die). Their eternal quality was spoken of by Jesus when he said:
"They which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God. being the children of the resurrection." (Luke 20:35.36)

Spiritual Warfare
New Age Deception is everywhere. Satan is here to gather as many souls as possible and will use every tactic possible. Deception, especially new age deception is rampant. Educate yourself on New Age Deception. Be on the lookout and continue to pray to the Lord our God for protection.

Satan and his demons come to tempt us in our vulnerabilities. They use enticements and deceptions of things falling in the realm of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, or the pride of life.

Just as Christ sent Satan away by quoting Scripture, so should we.

Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset--rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world. 1 Peter 5: 8-9

something to think about
Matthew 7:11 (New International Version)
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Not the goods of the world, but God. Not riches, but God. Not honors, but God. Not distinction, but God. Not dignities, but God. Not advancement, but God. God always and in everything. -- St. Vincent Pallotti

Gifts of the Holy Spirit
Gifts of the Holy Spirit enable us to live a holy Christian life. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are:

Wisdom - desire for the things of God, and to direct our whole life and all our actions to His honor and glory
Understanding - enable us to know more clearly the mysteries of faith
Counsel - warn us of the deceits of the devil, and of the dangers to salvation
Fortitude - strengthen us to do the will of God in all things
Knowledge - enable us to discover the will of God in all things
Piety - love God as a Father, and obey Him because we love Him
Fear of the Lord - have a dread of sin and fear of offending God

We praise and thank you Lord!

To lose a loved one
Death is so hard, how do you say goodbye to someone you love? But when the death is of a small, innocent, beautiful child you are at a loss for words. While we may never know why this happened, we have to believe and trust there is a reason why God has called her home. A very dear friend is struggling with this recent loss and I pray God watches over her and her family and provides her peace and many blessings.

If Tears Could...
Author Unknown

If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane,
I would walk right up to heaven
To bring you home again.
No farewell words were spoken.
No time to say good-bye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
My heart still aches in sadness
And secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know

Words to live by
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

The Bible, Matthew 5:2-12

Trust in the Lord
Today our priest spoke about the importance of putting all of your trust in God. Moses put all of his trust in God when he was initially called to lead his people out of Egypt. He dropped everything, his life totally changed when he followed Christ. God is also calling us to put all of our trust in him, pray, follow the Ten Commandments, leave sin behind. Every day is a new day and a choice to take the next step. What is it going to be, one step forward or one step backward? It is a new life, a better life, full of hope, faith, love, charity and the list goes on. A step backward only leads to failure. It isn't easy taking that next step forward but we know it is the step to our salvation. May you always have faith and trust in the Lord and always have that support to help you along your journey.

The Season of Lent
Lent is a special time of prayer, penance, sacrifice and good works in preparation of the celebration of Easter. In the desire to renew the liturgical practices of the Church, The Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy of Vatican Council II stated, "The two elements which are especially characteristic of Lent -- the recalling of baptism or the preparation for it, and penance -- should be given greater emphasis in the liturgy and in liturgical catechesis. It is by means of them that the Church prepares the faithful for the celebration of Easter, while they hear God's word more frequently and devote more time to prayer" (no. 109). The word Lent itself is derived from the Anglo-Saxon words lencten, meaning "Spring," and lenctentid, which literally means not only "Springtide" but also was the word for "March," the month in which the majority of Lent falls.

Take a few moments of reflection during lent;

We all have reasons why our hearts are divided. Past injuries and present injustices make it hard to forgive or, perhaps, to seek forgiveness. But forgiveness is not just a suggestion. It’s the only way to real freedom.

inspiration
This poem seemed to reach out to me so I wanted to share it.

You Can Be Whatever You Want To Be!

There is inside you
all of the potential
to be whatever you want to be,
all of the energy
to do whatever you want to do.

Imagine yourself as you would like to be,
doing what you want to do,
and each day, take one step
towards your dream.

And though at times it may seem too
difficult to continue,
hold on to your dream.

One morning you will awake to find
that you are the person you dreamed of,
doing what you wanted to do,
simply because you had the courage
to believe in your potential
and to hold on to your dream.

Angel Poem
Angel’s Love

I’ll pray for you today,
For an Angel to pass your way.
That her arms might hold you,
And that you feel it too.
Sometimes they’re by your side,
But it seems like they hide.
I’ll pray that you’re aware,
And know how much they care.
I’ll pray they softly whisper,
The things you need to hear.
I hope you feel an Angels’caress,
And all her tenderness.
They leave the sweetest memory,
Of how life’s suppose to be.
I’ll pray that you’re aware,
Everyday and everywhere.
That an Angel’s love follows you,
And walks where you do.

Children of God
Watching the news is heartbreaking as you see so many children in Haiti who have lost their parents. We must continue to pray for them and ask for protection over them. Additionally we have children coming into this world every day, some healthy as can be and others with challenges ahead. They all need our prayers and they need their guardian angels to stand by them and help them along their journey. Please enjoy the below poem. May God Bless.

When children lay down to sleep,
Two Angels come. their watch to keep,
Cover them up. safely and warm,
Tenderly shield them from ev'ry harm.
But when they wake at dawn of day,
The two Angels go away,
Rest from their work of care and love
For God Himself keeps watch above

Words to remember ...
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies
hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction....The chain reaction
of evil--hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars--must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of
annihilation.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Prayers
Please keep all those in Haiti and all their family and friends in desperate need to hear from those in Haiti in your prayers. No one knows why this happens but never lose faith in God for their is always a purpose.

Never forget -

God is in control. He is sovereign ... even in our pain, even in our troubles. Through it all, his love is transforming us, perfecting us, completing us......

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart
To handle yourself, use your head..
To handle others, use your heart.

Happy New Year
This Year Is Yours
Author - Alfred Lord Tennyson

God built and launched this year for you;
Upon the bridge you stand;
It's your ship, aye, your own ship,
And you are in command.
Just what the twelve months' trip will do
Rests wholly, solely, friend, with you.

Your logbook kept from day to day
My friend, what will it show?
Have you on your appointed way
Made progress, yes or no?
The log will tell, like guiding star,
The sort of captain that you are.

For weal or woe this year is yours;
Your ship is on life's sea
Your acts, as captain, must decide
Whichever it shall be;
So now in starting on your trip,
Ask God to help you sail your ship.

A Christmas Poem

Christmas gift suggestions:
To your enemy, forgiveness.
To an opponent, tolerance.
To a friend, your heart.
To a customer, service.
To all, charity.
To every child, a good example.
To yourself, respect.

Prayer Chain
One of the joys of being a Christian is knowing we have so many friends who will pray for us. It doesn't matter what the concern is, all you need to do is reach out and ask another to pray for you, your family, a friend etc. I have several friends right now dealing with their own medical issues, death of a loved one, concerns for their children, and/or parents and the list goes on. It is so important for them to know we have their backs, we are there to pray for them. So many times we want to help but think we can't but don't sell yourself short, you can help by offering up a prayer for them. May God Bless each and every one of you.

Jusus is the Reason for the Season
As we all rush about shopping, cooking, baking, going to parties, getting and decorating your Christmas tree etc....stop and remind yourself why you are doing this. This isn't about Santa Clause, getting and giving presents, eating and drinking too much, it is time to give thanks and praise to God for giving us his son, Jesus Christ, to save our souls. Set some time aside to thank God for all you have and ask for continual guidance, forgiveness, protection and graces. Reach out to those in need, if you don't have much to give, sometimes it just takes a smile or a kind gesture. We are all God's people, let us remember that and treat each other with that in mind.
May God Bless you.

New Poem by Rob Young
First I want to say I love this site! It is perfect timing in not only my life but I am sure also in a lot of others that have came in contact. I have been going through consecutive trials and tribulations since ... I can't even remember lol. Interesting enough I fumbled on my older bible writings and this popped out.

" JAMES

Chapter 1, 1-8 -My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

On That note I would love to end with a but of poetry...

I refuse to be a friend to hope/And distant to faith/Waiting for tomorrow’s unknown/ Discouraged yet hopeful/I have realized that having only hope is in the minds of the destitute/ While faith will continue to be in the hearts of the wealthy/ What is this word of hope that holds no certainty but only an imagination/ While faith is an assurance un-budged by the words of man/ And action to the hands of those that are unconvinced otherwise/ To have an undying sense of belief of the unseen/To tell those if I am dreaming don't wake me/ I have faith that joy comes with the sun rise/when the Son rise/ Faith is the CERTAINTY in what you hope for is waiting for you/ Thus meaning in the context of time and space it has already manifested/ We are only separated by that of the same/ time and space/ there for I am urgent and faithful/ wait no longer/ For I know the road to heaven is in living...So I am only patient for tomorrow’s promises ...

Stay Blessed Every. One!

Thankful by Tony DiFrancisco
I'm thankful for the ability to spend this Holiday season with my family instead of being in Iraq on another tour. I'm thankful I have a wonderful and healthy family who fill my life with laughter and happiness. I'm thankful my hard-working Ducks are 9-2 and playing with a lot of fire.

I'm also extremely thankful for the daily sacrifices of ... every American Soldier out there who won't get a home cooked meal because they are out there keeping us safe and make it so everybody else can. Everybody out there should toast to those American heroes, alive and fallen, before they dig in while watching football and enjoying time with their families. RIP Brandon, wish you were here bro but you'll never be forgotten.

Tony

Time to give thanks
As we enter into the holiday season this is a good time to find a little down time for yourself to stop and reflect on your life and think about all those that have influenced you along the way, helped you, supported you monetarily, verbally or with prayers and then some. Perhaps is was a teacher from years back or a friend who you no longer keep in touch with, a co-worker and of course your family and friends. Everyone enters our life for a reason although for some we are darned if we know the reason. After relecting, maybe say a prayer to give thanks to those people who have crossed paths with you. Even those that you may have disliked...they could have been sent your way to help build your character or taught you patience. Take some time for yourself, say a prayer and thank God for all he has given you.

May God Bless You.

Fear
Last night, I listened to the sound of wind howling through the trees and rain dropping buckets and buckets of water. This went on through out the night and little sleep did I get. As I laid there I can hear branches breaking off of trees landing on our house, pine cones dropping, the wind whipping the branches back and forth and the roar of the unknown left me uneasy and afraid. So you may think what’s a little wind and why so afraid? We all have fears some big some small, in the eye’s of many what you think may be big is small to them and vice versa. Fears of having a job, supporting your family, keeping the family safe, getting sick, getting well, not succeeding, not being smart enough, funny enough, pretty enough…..the list goes on and on. This is when we must turn to God asking for strength to combat our fears. Asking him to walk beside us and help us one step at a time. It isn’t easy but we must remember to “Let Go, Let God”.

“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid...for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee”

Poems
Among Us

Angels walk among us all,
There to catch us before we fall.
Through acts of kindness all around,
Their love waits to be found.
Gently wiping our tears away,
As we face another day.
Angels hold on to our hands
When no one else understands.
God sent Angels for everyone,
To guide us ‘til our work is done.
They turn struggle into glory,
Taking away all the worry.
Faith helps us to believe,
The love that we receive.
God sent his Angels
To take away our troubles!

coincidence
Have you ever had a situation where you were thinking about someone that you haven't spoken with in a long time then the phone rings and it is that person? Have you ever had a dream that seemed so real and within the next few days you are experiencing what you have dreamed? Have you ever had such a strong sense that someone is standing next to you or you caught a quick glimpse of something yet you know for a fact there wasn't anyone within sight or around you? Call me crazy if you want but I can honestly say I have experienced this and more. Coincidence? I think not. Everything happens for a reason Think about it!

keep the faith
Some of you who know me, are aware of the motor vehicle accident I experienced at age 20. I was thrown from a vehicle 20 plus feet in the air and my heart stopped. Long story short I experienced an out of body experience. My heart had stopped and I was watching myself from what seemed like 20 plus feet in the air watching as others were working on me. I remember it being peaceful but at the same time worrying about my mom and dad and saying "I am not going to die"....before you knew it I was in the ambulance with several people hovered over me. I was rushed to the hospital and my parents were notified I might not make it through the night. Before I knew it I had a priest by my side giving me the last rights. Again for those that know me, I am stubborn...I told the priest, "I am not going to die so you is wasting your time". Yes I said my last confession but I also prayed to God to let me live at least for my mom and dad. After a long battle of surgery, physical and occupational therapy I was released from the rehabilitation center to go home. My dotor, Dr. Israel, told me I was a walking miracle given my spinal films on xray. I left walking when most leave, if they are lucky in a wheel chair. I was told I would never have children and have two beautiful children. Never give up on your faith. God has plans for all of us, we just have to put our faith and trust in him.

Guardian Angel
When I was 18 and living with two other girls in a very small mobile home, barely a 2 bedroom, I was driving home to mom and dads to do my laundry. It was a long country road and I was going too fast, not paying much attention to what I was doing (hey I was only 18)... and I came to an intersection when I heard a horn honk. I looked up and saw a car pull right in front of me. I slammed on my breaks, my car skidded and turned around twice and came to rest 1 to 2 inches away from a very large tree. I sat there in shock when this man runs up to me asking me if I was o.k. I told him yes I am o.k. He then said to me, "thank God you honked your horn". I just shook my head, smiled and off he went. I sat there thinking....I didn't honk my horn... I heard a horn honk but it wasn't mine. There was no one around, just us two. That was my very first experience of knowing it was my guardian angel. I couldn't wait to get home to tell my mom. I am certain it was my guardian angel as there was no one else for miles around. That would have been one ugly head on crash but once the man heard the horn he immediately swierved back into his lane.

Guardian Angel
When I was a young girl my mom used to always tuck me in at night and say my prayers. One prayer we always said was the following, "Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love, entrusts me here, ever this day, be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide." As I grew older, I always remembered this prayer and always felt the protection of my guardian angel. I am sure many of you have also had this feeling or a similar feeling; if you wish to share please do so no matter what religion, faith or beliefs that you have.
